UNIVERISTY, Miss. --- Mental health can become a problem. Your mental health is one of the
most vital aspects to pay attention to when it comes to your overall well-being.

The University of Mississippi takes the condition of its student’s mental health very seriously. It
offers multiple resources for finding help including places at the South Campus REC where the
William Magee Center is located, as well as the counseling center located at Lester Hall.

According to the CDC, there are growing concerns when considering the impacts college might
have on the student’s mental health.

“We have a holistic approach to success and well-being here on our campus,'' says Assistant Vice
Chancellor for Wellness and Student Success, Natasha Jeter. “It is situational in that we are
tailoring our response in some regards to the specific needs of the students and their families.”

The university counseling center provides 24-hour crisis support management and on-call
services.

“Student’s well-being is a top priority at the university and their mental health is a part of that,”
says Jeter.
